I went to my doctor today, and he agrees with me that I probably have not ovulated since my M/C.. I told him I have not had one drop of EWCM since my last pregnancy, and I used to have it regularly every month around my fertile time. He said my body is probably just slow on the trigger and that we could wait it out a few more months, but he knows how anxious I am to get things going again, so he said we could "cheat" and go ahead and try clomid for my next cycle.

I am excited but nervous b/c of the side effects... can those of you who've used it give me any advice/tips, share your experiences? I start it on CD5 and I am supposed to start AF tomorrow or Friday if she comes on time.. which I'm praying she does. I've been feeling crampy the past day or so, so I think she's on her way. I know I am not pregnant b/c I took another test this morning and nothing.. and I just absolutely don't feel pregnant nor have had any symptoms this time around.

Thanks ladies!

i can totally speak from experience. I was on clomid for 5 cycles. As long as your doctor is monitoring you well, (checking your progesterone on day 21, and upping your doseage if you don't ovulate) then it should be fine. My dr. wasn't very good. He left me on 50 the whole 5 cycles, and i only O'd 3 out of the 5 times I was on it.
Just because you are taking clomid does not mean you will ovulate, so be sure to have a day 21 blood test taken. I really hope this does the trick for you hun! There is nothing worst than just waiting around for SOMETHING to happen. Maybe this will give you that needed "boost".
Let me know how it goes!!

As far as s/e goes... be prepared for hot flashes, and moodiness. You also get a LOT of pg symptoms when you are on it, so it's easy to get your hopes up

I haven't taken it Amber, but I am glad that your doctor is being proactive and getting you back on track.

I really hope it does the trick for you and that we both end up in the Dec DDC!

g/l Amber!!!

<-------clomidzilla Hot flashes, mood swings, you make a mountain out of a mole hill kind of thing. I also had the hcg trigger injection which makes your emotions even more crazy. Take it at night, but sometimes the hot flashes kept me awake. I am older than you, so it affected my estrogen level, and I had to take estrogen to keep the hot flashes in check, and kept my lining nice and thick. Other than that, its the easiest fertility drug to take. If I don't get a positive this month, we can be moody together next month. It also thickens you cervical mucous. So you will want to add robutussin (plain) or mucinex (plain) to help thin it out.

thanks guys!

Steph, I read somewhere where people were calling it "clomood"... I don't want to tell DH about the mood swings and all that just yet.. he's already trying to grasp the idea of possibly having multiples.. AF showed up early this morning and woke me up... so I guess I'll start my pills on Monday.

And I agree Amber--don't tell dh about the side effects of the Clomid just yet, just let him be surprised by the *new you* lol j/k...hoping the effects aren't too bad for you! How many mg are you taking?

Mel, it better work this month b/c he may not let me take it again if I turn into a monster!! He was actually ok with the thought of having twins.. he just said, "well we need to know before we start building the house so we'll know how many bedrooms"..

I am taking 50, so it's the lowest dosage I believe..

Last month was my first month on Clomid. I also took it CD5-9. I only had the hotflashes while on it. I did take robitussin starting the day after the last pill till the day after I knew for sure I O'ed. I didnt do it everyday though. I also took 2 tsp of it 3 times a day. I took my temp still and used OPK's and I O'ed on CD 16. My doctor said you should O anytime between CD11-17. Hope it works for you like it did me. Oh and my doctor said to BD everyother day between the 11-17 days. I would keep going just to be safe but in my case we stopped at CD17. Hope you get the same outcome I did.
