what do they literally mean by low vs high. I checked my position last night. So lets say that my cervix is North and my rectum is south. ( OMG, this sounds sooo bad! ) I had to raise my middle finger up, to feel my cervix. And then it was soft, not hard like the tip of my nose. I could definitely feel the dimple in the middle, and it was wet. So, if was supposed to start my period in 2 days, should I be able to feel my cervix when I insert my finger. I wouldn't have to lift my finger up to find the dimple? Should I always be able to feel the dimple? Would it not leave a milky residue on my finger if it was dry?

My cervix has always been high when I was pregnant, low when I was about to start or on my period.

what is low? I guess that is where I am confused. I seem to remember when I had to use progesterone suppositories that mine seemed way high. If it's low, will you run into it when you are check for placement?

Low is pretty much when you try to check, your finger hits it almost right away. When I've been pregnant, I've had to reach for it with a lot of effort, when it's low, I get it and it's like, RIGHT THERE.

Oh, I wish I could help, but I get very confused. Hardly ever can I touch my actual cervix. Even when it's low, it is so far turned to my back that I can't reach it. The only time it seems it turns around is right before ovulation, and then I am able to reach it. Good luck with that girl!!

mine was always very high as to where i couldn't even touch it and if i could it was just the end of it, and the dimple was always pointed back towards my but. Before AF gets here its very low, meaning i stick my finger in and i can touch it with just like half my finger in there.

the cervix is an amazing thing and has me confused. I am so tactile and visual, that I need to see and touch, and short of the miracle of growing eyes on my finger tips, its just not happening! thanks for the info!

Pardon me for asking, but how do you check? The best way is to put one leg up, and then check. I usually stand next to our bathtub, put my leg up that's closest to the tub and then check.

That was sooo cute! I guess we are talking about a sensitive area. I typically do it from a squat position, or over the toilet leaning forward. Maybe I should try that technique!

You know, I've read of some women squatting down and using a speculum and mirror to see their own cervix. That way they can see the difference too instead of just feeling.

I'm not that brave

Yeah, I don't know if I am that brave or not. It takes some working up to just for me to check placement.
