It can take a little while for your levels to drop back down. I think usually a few weeks, but don't quote me on that.

I agree with what Jenn said, it could take a little bit for the hCG to leave your system. Do you have an appointment set up to get your blood drawn again?

I'm not too sure if the line should be bright or not. I never tested after my m/c.
I hope your doc is able to get you in to make sure everything is going okay!

HE is in theatre still and i left a msg, this sounds normal though, i really didnt think my temp would stay up though, i have looked at tons of charts that had miscarriages and the temp dropped the minute the bleeding started.... so i know the pos hpt is probably normal....

I never tested again after my m/c, but I think if you are still getting a bright BFP on your hpt, I'd want to atleast have the doctor check it out. I know retained tissue can cause some problems...
Hope he is able to answer your questions!

yeah it takes a little while to get them back down, mine never got over 400 and it took about a week for them to go down. So if yours were higher i bet it will take a couple weeks

I still had a positive hpt one week after my m/c. I waited an additional 2 wks to test again, and it was negative.

I can't believe your doctor at least didn't want to follow up with bloodwork. I'm having to go every week until it drops to 0 then go back for a pap and ultrasound to make sure everything is out. In fact that's where I'm headed here in a few minutes, to get more stinkin bloodwork!! I hate needles!!! But goodluck with everything, when I went last week my HCG levels were still over 1,000, My doctor said it could take as long as 4-6 weeks for them to drop.

It takes a little while for HCG to drop. How long ago did you miscarry? I had a d and c on Sept. 18, 2007. On Oct. 12 I was still having a BFP. I called the dr. and they ordered more blood work. It was 590. They checked it again 2 days later and it hadn't dropped at all. So they did an ultrasound and found I had retained tissue AFTER a d and c. So I had another d and c on Oct. 20. In less than a week my HPT was negative. It all depends on how high it was in the first place. I would say if after a few weeks it was still positive you should call your doc. But if your concerned call now and tell them that you want to check your levels down to 0. GOOD LUCK!!!
