First off, I am sorry for everyone's losses.

My name is Britanie and I just miscarried today at 5 weeks, 3 days.

I'm wondering how long we have to wait until we start ttc again .. I am hearing 2 cycles / 3 cycles / and some people are saying you are most fertile after a miscarriage and to start trying right away .. So I'm a bit confused.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Britanie!

I'm so sorry for your loss!!!

As for waiting to TTC again, like you said, some DR's say 1 cycle, others say 3 cycles. AND like you mentioned, we are the most fertile after the m/c. The reason some DR's say to wait is for dating purposes. You might not even ovulate right after a m/c either.

Hope this helps,

Hi Brittanie! I am so sorry for your loss.

My doctor recommended me to wait 1 cycle after my m/c in Nov, but I also had a D&C. He said it was to allow the tissue to fully heal and for dating purposes.

But, there are also plenty of women on here who try right away and get sticky beans.

I hope you figure out what works best for you!! I look forward to getting to know you!

Hey girl, i'm so sorry for your loss. My Dr told me 1 cycle, after my loss in Dec i didn't wait and ended up m/c again in Jan. I waited one cycle this time and we are trying again. Again i'm so sorry for your loss.

My doctor told me 3 cycles. But I had a d and c. So we waited 3 cycles and tried and ended up with a sticky bean this time. I'm sorry for your loss. Good luck to you.

Britanie, I am sorry for your loss.

Like the other ladies have said it all depends on your Dr. I was told to wait until after 2 full cycles.

Good luck and I hope you get your sticky bean very quickly.

Thanks ladies!

My doctor told me that it was most likely a deformed ovum and there probably wasn't even a baby forming .. No need for a d&c because I was only 5 weeks 3 days along. I think my body is doing a good job at cleaning itself out right now (sorry for the tmi) .. I think once the bleeding stops we will just BD when ever and what ever happens, happens.

I look forward to getting to know everyone, and thank you all so much for the advice!

Hello Britanie! It's not very often I meet someone with a name spelled so similarly to mine!

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I really have no advice, as my loss was full term and not a miscarriage. I just wanted to say hi!

Britanie, great question. I was wondering the same thing as I was 6 weeks and just miscarried. It took us a year to get pregnant with that baby, so I really don't want to wait a few cycles. Emotionally I'm doing well and my body also seems to be doing a good job cleansing itself.

Hi Celry and Britanie, I waited until my second cycle, but I had a complicated d&c after a missed miscarriage. I am currently starting my second month of trying. Good luck to you both!

I am so sorry Britanie! We're on the close siblings forum together(though I don't post every often anymore). I'm glad you won't have to have a D&C. My loss was an ectopic and I was told to wait 3 cycles. HUGS!

Hello Britanie, I am so sorry for your loss I agree with the other ladies. Every dr. is different. I didn't have to have a d & c so I just waited till I stopped bleeding and started bding. But we will official start ttc next cycle. Yes, I have heard that you are more fertile after a m/c. My heart goes out to you. If you need anything just ask. B)
