Is there a certain amount of time that you're recommended to wait after a miscarriage before you TTC again?
I haven't talked to my doctor about it yet, but just wondering. Obviously we're still recovering from our loss, but I was curious.
Thanks!

My doctor just told us to wait a cycle. I was only 6 weeks though and my hcg never got very high. I'm still not sure if we'll wait a cycle or not as my cycles can be pretty long. It could be 3 months until I O a second time. I don't think I'm willing to wait that long.

I think you should talk to your doctor and also pay attention to how your body feels. If you feel like your ready emotionally and physically, you are probably ok only waiting a cycle. The amount of time your doctor tells you to wait will depend on how long you were pregnant, if you had a D&C, if there were any complications etc.

I think it depends a lot on your doctor as to what they'll tell you. Some arent' told to wait at all, mine said at least one cycle, some recommend waiting for two cycles. My doctor said one b/c I had a natural m/c, but he would've recommended 3 cycles if I had a D&C. I would ask your doctor, and also see what you feel comfortable with.

After my first miscarriage and d&c my dr. suggested that I wait 3 cycles. I think I waited 4 before we ttc and I got pregnant again. We waited 8 cycles between me being induced at 17 wks. and this last miscarriage 2 weeks ago. My dr. suggested that I waited at least 1 cycle this time, preferrably 3, but I'm feeling fine and we are going to start ttc this week! See what your dr. thinks and decide how you feel.

It's personal preference as to how long to wait. My doctor didn't give me a recommended time frame, my DH and I decided to wait and are still waiting.

I agree with the other ladies in talking to your doctor to see what he/she says.

I had a D&C and my doctor just asked me to wait 1 cycle. He said it was to make sure the endometrial tissue was fully healed and for dating purposes.

Overall, it is up to you and your dh how long you want to wait... g/l

I'm sorry for your loss. It looks like you and I had it about the same time. I'm going in to see my doctor tomorrow and I'll post what he says if you would like. This was my first loss so I have some questions for him for sure.

First thing I wanted to say I'm soooo sorry for your loss. I had a natural m/c and was told to wait 1 cycle and then I could start again. I feel like we are sooo ready. But like everyone else said it is up to you and your doc. I say if you feel you are ready then go for it. Good luck!!!

I m/c in Nov. 07 and was told to wait 2 cycles. I had a natural m/c and since I have PCOS I have just now, this month, been able to start again with clomid this time. I am so sorry for your loss. Good luck in TTC your next baby, but make sure you take time to grieve your loss and heal.

I think you will get different answers depending on what the weather is like outside. Seriously, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it. I have been told to wait 1, 2 and 3 cycles. I have had doctors forget what they advised me, and then tell me I could start ttc before my cycles were up. It is all over the board, but I think the best advice I heard was when your cycles are back to normal.
