My sister finally had her baby boy this weekend. Her due date was on the 4th and she went over due so they induced on Saturday and she finally had him on Monday morning the 17th at 12:01am. He weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 19 1/2 in long. He is so darling. When I have more time I will tell you more of the story as it was a long weekend. Anyway hope all you gals are doing great and I will check in again later.
UPDATE:
So I know some of you have been wondering the full story with my sister so I have a little time and thought I would share. So here goes: March 4th was here due date and obviously that came and went. No contraction, nothing. On the following Tuesday her dr had her go to the hospital for a routine stress test and everything was fine and later that afternoon tried to strip her membranes only to find that she couldn't because her cervix was still thick. (Her dr had not checked her cervix at all up to this point, I guess she doesn't believe in doing so until labor starts) Anyway so they told my sister they would induce at 7am on Friday morning. On Thursday she had a little bloody show so we thought things might be progressing but still no contractions of otherwise to indicate that she might go into labor. Then Thursday night the hospital called and told her they were full and over-flowing and would have to post pone her induction til Noon or 1, that they would call when they had a room available. So time passed on Friday and still no call from the hospital until around 4 and they said she would have to wait til Sat and again they would call to let her know what time. So Sat morning they finally call around 11am and tell her to be at the hospital at Noon for induction. So they start the induction process with cytotek and later that evining she starts to have regular contractions but by 9 she still has not dialated. So they put her in the tub to get her relaxed and give her and ambien to sleep. The next morning they check her again and she is dilated to a 1.5 and she remained there all day. So by 5pm they are talking about doing a c-section as my sister was agains having pitocin. So at 9:30 they were supposed to do prep for surgery but instead when they checked her she was dialated to a 5. Apparently they had given her some drugs to relax her and it allowed her to dialate more. So at this point they decided to go ahead and break her water and see if that helped. When they broke her water around 10:30 Sunday evening this out her into full on labor and started to stress both she and the baby. So they ended up having to give her an epideral to get her settled and comfortable, told her to rest for a while and they would check her again around 11:30. At 11:15 my BIL let us know all this and said that she was resting. After that we didn't here anything from him again until 12:45am. A long wait as you might imagine. When he came out he said that she was resting and doing well and then added in sweet and quietly...And we have a little boy! We didn't even know about it for almost an hour after he was born and all the time we were wondering what was truely going on. So I guess they checked her again around 11:30 as they said they would and at the time the nurse said that they dr better go get her suit on because his head was right there. So a half hour of pushing and he was here. Lucky girl! Yeah I'm sure your saying not so lucky after all she went through but when you consider that I pushed for 3 1/2 hours and still had to go the c-sect route, I do consider her lucky. Well on with the story, we had to wait til 3:00 to see him because he was breast feeding and my sister is a very private person. Even then she wouldn't let us hold him but I suppose I can understand that. Let me tell you though it is a very different situation to be on the other end of the stick. And needless to say it was very bittersweet to see her holding her baby and knowing in the back of my mind that Benzon should have been 2 months hold by now. I left her room in tears, it was extremely hard.
So that's the story. Poor girl, he just didn't want to come out. But you know we told them that that's what happens when two stubborn people have a baby, they get it back 10 fold and Wade was deffinately stubborn.
So you also ask for a picture and so here he is, meet Wade Kieth:
