Thanks ladies! For some reason I'm always expecting things to turn out very horribly, so I'm surprised then things turn out well.
This is my next project:
I haven't bought fabric for it yet, but I found this beautiful fabric for the jacket that I'm trying to decide on. They're the same pattern, just the reverses of each other. One is red with a black floral patter, the other is black with a red pattern (I'm leaning towards the black though..). The dress itself would be a red satin. I have no place to wear such a fancy dress though, so I told DH that we're going to have to go to a formal dance at the school, so I can have a reason to wear it.
Ashley: In all actuality, I really hate sewing. I just like being able to say I've made something I'm wearing. lol!!

At least you CAN sew! I am hopeless!
When I was in college we'd have an ABC party every summer, ABC stands for Anything But Clothes. So we'd have to go out and find whatever we could to make "clothes" out of. All the other girls are getting all these fun materials and making really cute creative little outfits, and I was the one who bought a sheet and draped it around me like a toga. Lame!!!
I'd love to learn to sew someday. It's on my to-do list.... unfortunately it's at the bottom of a VERY LONG list!

Hey, you live in Salt Lake! I'm not too far away. lol, I was going to say "it's too bad you don't live closer, I could teach you."
I guess that still holds true. 3+ hours is a bit of a drive for sewing lessons
