So got first AF post m/c on Feb.29th, 20days later got 2nd AF on March 19th, now today March 26th(2 months to the day that I delivered Saul) I woke up with spotting!!! I should be on CD 8, which means I'm fertile, I guess. What the heck is this spotting stuff? I am so confused. I am just soooooo ready for this cycle of mine to get back on track. Any advice?

I am so sorry you are going through this. I am not sure of your whole story, but I just wanted to let you know my experience. I don't consider your Saul a m/c because I believe you gave birth. I would call it a stillbirth, even though you were just 3 weeks short of 20 weeks. That just my opinion. Anyways, after giving birth I bled for a few weeks, then it let up and I had a little more bleeding combined with ewcm. I didn't consider it my first af though because it was far too light. Only a couple of weeks later I bled again, but this time it was for 4 days and it was enough to wear a pad. Unfortunately I don't think your first af was really af. It could have just been your body adjusting. And to get af again 20 days later seems way too soon. What were your cycles like before you got pregnant? The only way to know for sure what is going on is to start temping and charting. This will help you to see if you are ovulating yet. I know that I didn't O the first month, and possibly not the second month either. Also cd8 isn't usually a fertile time, usually that isn't until after cd12 or 14. You might try an opk just to see if this is O for you. Good Luck and sorry I wasn't more help. If it helps at all, I think my cycles got a little more regular after the 3rd month.

thank's for your response, it did help a lot. I too feel as though it was a stillbirth, but according to the "rules" a stillbirth doesn't occur until after 20 weeks. Like you said I was 3 weeks shy of 20 but it was definately a stillbirth. I'm glad that someone else feels that way about my situation too. My cycles pre-Saul were very regular, 28 day cycles. I've been temping and charting for the last week so I'm hoping that will help. Thank You, you really were very helpful.

I think that it is horrible that there is a certain number of weeks you have to be to have it labeled as stillbirth. But I guess they have to come up with a cutoff somewhere. Will you share your chart with me? I will try to work with ff so that you can see my chart from after I gave birth, if your interested.
With a 28 day cycle, then your fertile time really shouldn't be for a few more days at least. However, a couple months after I had a cycle that I O'd on cd10, so anything goes after a loss. I hope that your cycles will straighten out soon, because this doesn't make things any easier at all.
If you don't mind me asking, do you know why you lost your precious baby, Saul?

I thought stillbirth started at something like 14-15 weeks basically anything after the first trimester. My loss was earlier so I'm just going by what I thought I had read. Either way it sucks I would agree that it's just your body working it's way back to normal. I'm sorry that you are having to go through this, and I hope that you body adjusts soon.

I'm not sure if this helps but check out progesterone and period on the internet. My loss was at 8 weeks but at one point I remember reading that if prog. is low then you can start spotting. I'm sorry I'm not good with remember the details. I remember having spotted about a week before my period and called the doctor and they said it was my body working itself out with my hormones and most likely my prog. wasn't normal (can't remember if it was high or low) I'm sorry. Good luck with everything.

Technically stillbirth is after 20 weeks. Before 20 weeks they don't consider the baby viable outside of the womb I guess, although 20 weeks isn't exactly a good age to be born either. I have mc'd early on around 8 weeks and it was painful, but just not the same. In a way it was more like a really heavy af. After a certain point in pregnancy and you have contractions, need to be dialated, and have to push...its a birth to me. No matter what, it does suck to lose our babies!

I agree with Brandi, in that it could be O bleeding. It could also be, that it's your body getting back to normal. Confusing I know!

I lost Saul for an unknown reason. I went in for my check up on Jan.24th, they listened for a heartbeat and there wasn't one. She then sent me over to have an u/s and that's when we discovered that we lost our son. It's amazing that the pain hasn't been overwhelming lately but as I type it seems to be building and building again. Anyways, that day I was sent home with the option to be induced that next day. I actually started bleeding that night, very light but I was. My body was actually having contractions, very mild though. I woke that next morning after not sleeping well and went to the hospital. I was given my first dose of induction meds at noon and by 4 pm I was in full blown labor. I was given an epidural at 7pm and actually slept most of the evening. I delivered my precious little boy at 5:25 am on January 26th, two months ago today. I held him all day and had to have an u/s to make sure that i delivered the placenta. When all was said and done my doctor thought that I might have a blood clotting disorder. She figured a clotting disorder b/c I suffered from severe preeclampsia with my first son and delivered him early at 33 weeks. That resulted in him spending 26 days in the NICU. So we did all those tests to check for the clotting disorder, which take like 14 vials of blood, for them too all come back NEGATIVE! So they just simply said that my placenta detached due to lack of blood flow, for some unknown reason. I was instructed to take a baby aspirin everyday of my next pregnancy in hopes that it will thin my blood enough to carry the baby to full term. You know, as much as it still hurts and will always hurt, it feels good to tell my story again. Thanks for asking.

Thank you for sharing that with me. I am sorry I must have missed it before. I am glad to hear that you had the blood tests done. I have a cousin who's first baby was way behind in weight and size and they didn't think much of it. She ended up needing an emergency c-section at 27 weeks. Her baby was the size of a 23 weeker. That is where her and I had a lot in common. Fortunately for her, her baby made it through that and is now 2 years old, but only weighs 18lbs. and they are talking about a feeding tube now to get the nutrition in her because she just doesn't gain weight. All of my cousins tests came back negative, but one of them seemed inconclusive. Well she ended up getting pregnant again and they told her to take the baby aspirin for the pregnancy and sure enough she went full term and delivered a perfectly healthy 8lb baby. There is a lot to say for the baby aspirin. I highly recommend it for most people who have no answers. It sounds like you have a good dr. though. I just wanted to mention folic acid too. I have talked to many people and it seems like the folic has a lot to do with the BA that we take. You might mention it to your dr. if he hasn't already suggested it, otherwise you can just take a little extra 400mcg or so over the counter. Are you still taking your prenatals too? I take a full 5mg of folic, but I think that 1mg is standard for most pregnancies. It doesn't hurt in any way.
If you ever want to tell me more about Saul, feel free to pm me. I also have myspace in case your interested. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...endid=113817786.

I don't have any answers for you either, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your story and I am so sorry for your loss. And your little Lukas is so beautiful, as I am sure Saul was as well. I hope your body can get back on track soon, so you can try again. Good luck.

I don't have any answers for you other than to guess that your cycle is still trying to get back to normal.
I am so sorry for the loss of your little baby Saul.
