Hi ladies...its been a while since I have been on this board. My due date was April 9th, however my daughter was born on January 13th. I was 27 weeks 5 days. I had developed pre-clampsia and had to have a c-section. Let me start by saying she is still in NICU but is doing very very well and hopefully will be able to come home within the next month.
She was only 1lb 4oz when she was born... Here is a photo of her. She is about 2 hours old. Notice the band on her wrist? It is my husbands wedding ring!
Here's a quick over view of her development...
She was on the vent for about 10 weeks.
She had double inguinal hernia surgery when she was 12 weeks old and had to go back on the vent for about 1 week.
She is now on a nasal cannula and gets most of her feedings through a feeding tube. Last week she started nipple feeding 1 time per shift (basically 2 times a day). I have been pumping since she was born. I don't produce enough milk for her, but I am happy to give her all that I can. I am really looking forward to the day that we can try breast feeding.
Its been a long road and a times its hard, but me and my DH truly feel blessed with everything. If anyone is interested in reading our story in more detail we started a blog that we update weekly or so... here is the link

She now weighs 5lbs 10 oz. Here is a photo of her I took this afternoon while I was holding her.
