Since it is getting closer to DH coming home I am getting so nervous to dtd lol. I feel like Im about to lose my virginity or something..its ridiculous So a couple questions for those of you that have dtd since giving birth..

How much does it hurt? I tore a tiny bit and had to get stitched..how much more painful does that make it?

Is it ok to go ahead and dtd without getting the okay from the dr first? My appt isn't until about a week after he gets home.

And more of a BC question..I am nervous to use even the mini pill because it made my SIL's milk dry up. So I have been looking into alternatives...has anyone used a diaphragm? What did you think of it?

For me it pretty much feels like it did the first time, just a little sore, a little tighter than before. Nothing horrible and once we get into the rhythm of it, the pain goes away. I'm sure everyone is different though

And I'd say if you feel comfortable and it's been about 6 weeks, go for it. My Dr. gave me the go ahead at 4 weeks but he didn't even look down there or anything, so I basically made the decision myself.

I think it's cute you're nervous, hehe. Have fun with your man when he gets home!

I don't have any BC advice for you, I hate hormonal BC, never tried a diaphragm and we just use NFP and the trusty old 'pull out', lol.

I'm glad you asked this question! I'm super nervous about it too. I have one friend who told me that it's never been the same for her. Eeek! I'm definitely waiting for the 6 week point...I'm a little over 4 weeks and still have some soreness.

How long has your hubby been away?

Lube. Get some.
I find that I'm dryer now than I was before so it's a little uncomfortable. That and my mind wanders because I'm so worried that one of the girls is going to wake up so I'm not 100% there... Depending on what kind of BC you end up choosing you may want to wait. I got and IUD put in on Monday and they seriously asked me 3-5 times if I'd had intercourse yet. If I had, they couldn't do it that day for whatever reason. I hadn't so I didn't ask why. What I will say is that it is sooo nice to be able to get close to DH again!! Oh and the spot where you had stitches might pull and ache a little after. I had stitches when I had Kaija and the spot still feels a little weird sometimes almost 2.5 years later.
Good luck, have fun, and try to relax... perhaps a glass of wine!
