Framing photos

We are shocking at putting photos up on the walls - just slack. We have one OLD family one up, which means it does not have Layla in it! Layla has started to point every day at the family photo and say all our names and boy do I feel guilty she's not up there in any capacity! So, professional photos for the kids are coming up and I've got a perfect wall for a 'photo wall' and am all inspired.

Anyone good with picking photos frames? I was thinking of just going all plain, black frames, so that the emphasis is on the photos rather than any fancy frames. Is that the right way to go?? If you want to post pics of your framed photos I'd love to get some ideas!

Photobucket is annoying me tonight but here are a few that will go up on the wall (they are just photos of the photos so ignore the quality).

I would do plain frames. That's what we do. We have black frames on Our photo wall. Depending on the wall colors in your house you could do black, brown, or silver frames.

We have all black frames for ours as well. But they are different styles/sizes and it looks really neat. I did get a big collection of frames last year on sale so the majority are those. But some are shadow box style. One is black with white scroll on it. So the 'theme' is all black frames but there's variety. I'd take a pic of it but we took them all down because we thought we were going to rearrange the living room, but it didn't work (darn huge couch!). Then I couldn't find the right holes for the nails to put them all back up right... it just looks bad right now!

We do all black too - different styles but all black. I think sticking with plain black or brown would be good with those photos.

I still don't have any photos up since we've had Rachel...oops! I'm going to start collecting black frames too

Thanks ladies, I think I will go with the black frames then.

Mine will be all different sized photos too so I think sticking with black will make it easier to add to the collection later, and like Mylene said, still have it look neat! (And I think black frames seem to be quite inexpensive too so that's a bonus).
