We picked out our puppy Monday night...she is perfect! We picked the strongest, most rambunctious one of the litter, she kept jumping up on the boys and giving us all kisses, she totally stood out. It is going to be so hard to wait three more weeks to bring her home!
There is a picture of her here, she's the one named "Rejoice" and has SOLD written over her.
We asked Aiden a while ago what he wanted to name the puppy and he keeps saying "Butt Butt Moon Face", which is from a Dr. Seuss story. We obviously thought it was absurd, but we really like the idea of letting him name the dog, so we're using Butt Butt Moon Face as her AKC name and we'll be calling her Luna. Little Luna will be coming home December 19, I'm so stinking excited!
I've been around dogs for years, but it's been nearly 15 years since I've had a puppy in the house, so if you have any tips I'd love to hear them!

Thanks! I'm completely enamored with her!
Yes, we will be crate training. I want her to have to be in the crate as short a time as possible, but she'll be in it when we leave the house for her own protection.
We have a trainer coming starting the week after we get her to help us with crate and bell training and basic obedience. Poodles are extremely smart and trainable so I want to make sure we help her live up to her potential!

Ah, yes that was going to be my advice, my moms dog is soooo bad and she has constant accidents all over the house bec/ shes not crate trained, ugh. It was a must for our dog bec/ she has terrible anxiety and literally ate the keys off my laptop the one time we tried to leave her in the house outside of her crate

She is adorable!!!
Our dog loves his crate. He goes in there at night, and when we are gone, or if we have company that doesn't like dogs. We call it his "room" so the command is "Go to your room" and he goes. We wanted to make it feel like HIS place and not a punishment.

She's gorgeous! So cute that Aiden gets to name her too! I really recommend looking up Ceasar Milan's tips on taking a new dog home and raising a puppy, the man is seriously AMAZING with dogs! Plus it sounds like you might have a dominant and excited type personnality dog so you may want to have some tricks up your sleeve.

Beth and Lisa, thanks for the tips! I love the idea of her enjoying being in her crate. My Bichon was that way too, she liked to "den". But she also was not trained and was a completely spoiled brat.
Definitely a fan of the dog whisperer! I'll look more into that, thanks!
