Do you make resolutions each year? Are you making one this year? Do you tend to keep or break your resolutions? If you are making one this year what is it? What are you planning for new years eve? Do you have any family traditions for new years eve? What is the strangest new years eve tradition you have heard of? How would you rate this year on a scale of 1-10? Do you have any big plans for next year? If you could change one thing about 2011 what would it be?

I don't make new years resolutions most years. This time I plan on quitting smoking. The years that I have made resolutions I have kept them, so I hope that this year I am able to keep my resolution. We don't have any plans for new years eve this year. I am sure we will let the kids stay up and watch movies until they fall asleep. We don't have any family traditions for new years eve, or new years day. The strangest tradition I have seen is taking a huge bite of sauerkraut right after midnight. A friend from high school use to do that with her family every year. I think on a scale of 1-10 this year has been an 8. This next year we plan on having another baby. That is pretty much the only thing we have talked about for the next year. If I could change something about this year I would have told my knee surgeon what I really wanted, and I would have avoided having to have a second knee surgery.

Hmm...I don't really do resolutions. I try to take each day as a new beginning (or each week/month) but I really want to work on being kinder to everyone. Those I love, those I like, those I don't like and complete strangers. Particularly my little family. I want to make sure that each day I do something for each person so they know they're special to me.

Currently we don't have any NYE plans, and I expect it will stay that way. Possibly hang out with family and play our new favorite game, but I think ideally we'll watch some Lord of the Rings and fall asleep whenever we can.

This year has been good. Probably and 8 or 9 out of 10. I wish I would have been able to get pregnant in 2011, but we don't have total control over that. I REALLY want a new baby in 2012. My almost 3yo starts preschool on the 2nd, so I think life will really change for me only having Lauren 10 hours a week. I just want to go with it and be hopeful for our future.

I don't really make resolutions but this year I MUST start taking better care of myself. I've gained a stupid amount of weight since Kolbie was born and I'm pretty unhappy about it. But I've been too lazy to do anything about it and I need to stop that. I want to lose 30-40 lb. before we TTC again and hopefully that will be by the end of the year. I'd give this year a 7 or so. We've had worse years that's for sure. We don't do anything for NYE since DH usually has to work. Some friends of our are having a game night but it ends at 11 because they have to serve at church the next morning. On top of that DH works and I don't want to take the girls when I know they'll get crabby and be awful. So I'll just hang at home as usual. Boo. I do wish we had someplace to go and really have fun.

I'd rate this year an 8 or 9, it's been a great year for us over all, we've been happy and healthy and that's all I could ask for! I don't usually make any new year's resolutions but this year DH and I have resolved to get ourselves ahead financially. This time last year we wanted to start saving for a new house and allthough we've started making progress on catching up with some things, we still don't have much in the means of a proper savings towards a new house, so that is our top priority this year. We are going to try to save save save and hopefully by this time next year we'll be much closer to having a new home.

DH's band is playing on NYE but I don't have a sitter for Didi so I'll probably just stay home with her. I don't mind missing out on the NYE festivities, but I would have liked to be able to see DH play since it's been a long time since I've been able to go. Maybe next year!

I don't really make resolutions either, but maybe this year I will make it a priority to work on our finances. Me going back to work this month was a start

The last two years have been really hard for me. This year I'd rate as a 4. I'd like to say that 2012 will be better, but I'm not super optimistic about that. I'm a terribly pessimistic person.

Our big plan for 2012 is going to Italy and Turkey in October. My parents gave DH and I a European trip as a gift a few years ago, so we are finally going to use it. My dad just booked our plane tickets and some of our hotel reservations yesterday. We'll spend a few days in Rome, travel to Florence for a few days and hopefully take a day trip to Tuscany for some wine, then back to Rome so we can fly to Istanbul. We're hoping to meet up with the exchange group we hosted earlier this year to sight see. We'll be gone almost 2 weeks.

For NYE I think we're going to my SIL's house while my MIL takes my girls and my nieces for a sleepover. The guys are going to play poker and the girls are going to play spades and board games. We are crazy party animals aren't we?

We have no plans for NYE. DH is off, so we may go to a friend's house, but kids will be with us.

This year was probably an 8. I'm looking forward to 2012 though: Vi is turning 2, new baby, and Lily will start pre-K in the fall. Plus, it's the last year of my 20s...I'm getting old

I don't really do resolutions. I do want to try to spend more one on one time with each girl though, especially before baby is born.

I have the typical new years resolution...lose weight! I hope to lose at least 10 pounds by April (very doable) just keeping it off is the hard part.

We are having people over to Our house on nye so we don't have to worry about a sitter. If a family member wants to keep peyton at the last minute that will be fine then I'll be able to have a few more cocktails! Lol. But I'll limit myself if she is home with us.

This year was great! Not any big complaints here! I guess about an 8 or 9.

This year has been about a 5. It was rough. Between DH and the pancreatitus, my in-laws financial worries and Julia's reflux and eye issues - we have been really stressed. The time off work for Julia's appointments is hurting us financially too. DH and I are both beleivinig that this next year will be better!

For New Year's we are just staying home and watching some movies. We usually go to my sister's house for a kid-friendly party, but we didn't feel up to it this year. Maybe next year.

As for resolutions - I just want to eat better. I had really started making better food choices when I went back to work after maternity leave and then we found out all the stuff about Julia and had her surgery and my food choices went out the window! So my goal is to choose better foods so I feel better and maybe loose a little weight. I also want to work on controlling my anxiety. I am not on any meds and haven't been since I got married, but am feeling very OCD and anxious. I am working on deep breathing and maybe will do some yoga. If that doesn't help I am going to see a therapist or get some meds.
