Birthday Party Favors

M's birthday party is Sunday and i guess i need some kind of favor... i personally HATE the little party bags full of crap thats going to get thrown out when the kid gets home but i know its sort of expected to at least do something. Is a little bag of candy enough? We're having a monkey theme, i figured we'll be in a gymnastics gym so i'm sort of going with the thought of acting like crazy little monkeys jumping around. So i was thinking maybe some of those banana runts and maybe some other kind of banana (or at least yellow) candy? Is that lame? I was also going to try to find some of those cheap balls to give to each kid bec/ they could play with them there but they arent really in season and dh also keeps inviting random people who probably wont show up but i wouldnt want to not have one for them.... candy is easier to get extra of... is that enough? Does anyone have any other ideas?

I think that's fine. I usually do coloring books/stickers/crayons since most kids will do those at home at some point.

I agree. I think that's totally fine. FWIW, I've never done favors. We've also never had more than 2 other kids at any of the girls's parties though...

I wonder if candy stores will have separate banana ones.... i'm not really in the mood to buy a zillion boxes of runts to have to pick through

Right now we have about 8 kids that will be playing and two under 1, M (2), Sdd(7), 3, 5, 18 months, 6, 8, 6 and then baby B who is 9 months and my niece who is 2.5 months. I figure i'll set the table for the kids with a little bag at each place?

I also just realized i need to think of a way to display the cake pops that we're getting instead of cake. I need to come up with some sort of centerpiece or something? Hm... i think i'm going to have a plate, napkin, water bottle and little bag of candy at each place and then give out the cake pops later, i dont want the kids to eat them before cake time.
