He wants to do 6 months

Chris really really wants to do a 6 month deployment instead of the 3 month. He is so miserable when he's not deployed because the only time he can do his job is when he's out there. He hasn't deployed in 4 years because he was on special duty at the school house as an instructor and he's itching to get back out. I'd rather him do 3 months, of course, but I told him to do 6 if thats what he wants. We could use the money, and it would mean he'd be home for the holidays next year. It just sucks that he'll leave the baby when he's 7 weeks old and won't see him again until he's 8 months old.

That really sucks. When will you find out how long he will be gone? I hope that you can find out soon, so you have time to get prepared for it before the baby gets here. I know after having a baby the last thing I would want to do is all the extra crap that comes with them deploying.
