For those of you who are already mamas - did the hospital show you how to give the baby a bath the first time? If you haven't had the baby yet, JM has a great article on how to give a baby a bath here: Bathing Your Baby

They did not show us at the hospital. Dh and I read how to do it from our what to expect the first year book. The hardest part is washing a screaming wiggling naked slippery baby! Lol!

They didn't show us at the hospital with DS either, but in my August DDC, the gals there were saying that the hospital had shown them how to bathe their baby. YES - no book can clearly describe that wiggly, slippery thing!

Nope, they didn't show us. We gave sponge baths right away, but it was a good month before we used the bathtub!

Slippery babies are the worst! LOL

They didn't show us either, we gave him a sponge bath for the most part. And I kept a towel close and picked him up in the towel. Yeah, the towel got wet, but it beats trying to keep ahold of baby.

The nurse came to our room and made us watch how she bathed Ava when she was born. so we knew what to do.. it was still scary giving her , her first bath even though we saw them do it!
