Married just over a year and ttc

Hello everyone! I'm new here, and wanted some opinions on my situation. I got married July 24, 2010 and at the end of June 2011 I went off bcp, ttc#1. My first period post bcp was on August 11, 2011 and I still have not had AF- I am not on CD 48. My last cycle (first one off BCP) was 48 days. Because I've kinda recently went off BCP I'm not sure when I ovulated. I thought it was around August 30th because thats when I had extremely stretchy EWCM

- even with a twinge of brown in it. My husband and i BD'd all around there (way before and way after as well just in case) and since then I've had nothing but CM/EWCM

. I've had no AF and BFN's

I had some symptoms a few weeks back, but thinking of it now, I'm not sure if I was ovulating way late or if they were AF symptoms. Either way, I still dont have AF and have BFN and no symptoms

. Anyone had a similar experience and gotten a BFP?

I dont want to go to the doctor yet because i have a feeling they'll just say its because i went off BCP and to just wait it out...and i keep saying "if i dont get anything by the end of the week i'll call the dr" then when that time comes and i have no AF i keep giving it one more week...but still nothing

FYI- Before going on BCP, i had a regular cycle.

I am not actively TTC yet, but I am kind of in your same boat. I just went off the BCP at the end of August and I have yet to have a period. I am on CD34 today and I have done a lot of research as to why AF still hasn't gone back to normal. Most of the time it can take up to three months after you go off the pill for things to return to normal. However, I am very impatient, so I've been looking into ways to regulate my body faster. I found that part of the reason it takes your body a while to ovulate is because of a Vitamin B6 deficiency, so I am trying to take some of those (in my prenatals) and I hope that will help get things moving faster.

From the sounds of it, your body is just regulating itself. Taking a prenatal (if you aren't already) or a B6 might help move things along. If I were you, I would consider going in. It's been almost three months since you went off the pill and things still aren't regulating. You could wait it out, but I am honestly not that patient. lol. They would probably have some great insight. Sorry, I am not much help experience-wise, but this is just stuff I have found out. Good luck!

I understand completely...depo shot ran out the day hubby and I got married Aug. 14, 2010 and we've been TTC ever since. I dont know all the fancy abbreviations but my cycle started back immediately and we have yet to have a positive test.

The last 3-4 months cycle has been either 4 days early or 4 days late. I'm thinking the shot just got out my system. I was under the impression that everything was normal but now I'm not so sure. Been feeling symptoms for a little over a week now. I'm also very close to calling the DR; I'm getting impatient and want to test like yesterday.

Yes, I've been taking prenatals since I stopped the pill. I thought it took three cycles (not necessarily months) to get back to a normal regulated cycle. At least thats what I'm thinking and aiming for. I think once I start my next cycle, if things dont get back to a regular schedule that I will see the doctor.

I mean if I base my cycles off of the first one I had off of the pill, it seems that I'll be on a 48 day cycle, which would mean I'm only a day or so late. Who knows! I keep trying to figure this stuff out and it gets more confusing each time! I'll keep you guys posted.

Welcome ladies! Silver Chick you could be pregnant and you Oed later than you thought or your body could be regulating itself still. If still no period by the end of the week then I would call your doctor.

Thanks! I maaaay try and hold out until the end of next week. Cause if I base everything off of the last cycle, i'm only a day or so late for my period...sooo we shall see
