I'm officially full-term ladies!!! YAY!!


I'm not feeling so great and had my 37 week checkup and he checked me. Big surprise--LOL...only a finger tip dilated, she has not dropped and I'm closed. I was closed on Monday when he checked at the hospital after my fall too.

Here is something I hope someone can educate me on--when they measure your belly for your uterus...last week I was measuring a week ahead (measured 37 weeks) and today, I measured 34 weeks. I thought to myself "OOO maybe that means I've dropped"--but then he did an internal and said no, I haven't dropped.

So why am I measuring small if last week I was a week ahead?

Anyways--I really thought for sure I would be further along. Here are my awful symptoms:

sick to stomach
pain and tightness in lowback and tingly sensations in pelvic
going to the bathroom all day (in What to Expect they said this could be a sign of prelabor..like your body is cleaning itself out).
just feel off
having BH contraxs b/c I don't think they are real ones...but who knows.

So, yea, I thought for sure I'd be 2 cm and effaced...but alas, nada.

I go back next week for another appt.

Let's place bets on when I will go---I think I will make it to my 40 week--maybe just right before my due date (which is May 27th).

I think based on your symptoms you will have your little one by the 15th. It sounds like your body is gearing up to go into labor. If these symptoms keep up it will really surprise me if you even make it to next weekend.

Lots of women start labor without being effaced or dilated at all and deliver super fast. So, just because you aren't effaced/dilated yet doesn't mean that much. Try not to focus on the numbers too much.

It's normal for measurements to vary. She may have dropped a little but not be fully engaged in the pelvis yet. Or the measurements might have just been off, etc. Dropping and engaging are two different things, so while he might not have felt her engaged in the pelvic area, she may have dropped lower than she was before and is getting into position more. Hope that makes sense...a lot of doctors use the two terms interchangeably, but they do mean different things.

I'm guessing you'll deliver in the next 2 weeks. I'll go with May 14 and I'll even guess a weight of 7lbs, 10oz and 20 inches! And I think you should name her "Shelley" since it's the best name ever

I think you'll have this baby by the time you are 39 weeks! I felt the exact same way you are feeling a few days before my water broke with Rachel...I was just feeling "off". When I went into the hospital after my water broke with her I was only 1 cm dialated and 20% effaced, and had her 8 hours later, so you never know!

I'm going to go with May 16th, 6lbs 11 oz!

I think you will deliver on your due date too.

I think she will be right at 8 pounds, but she will be long - at least 21 inches.

Unfortunately, I felt the way you do for about 5 weeks straight before delivering Caleb. But my body clearly had no idea what it was doing and kept gearing up and gearing up and gearing up....*sigh* LOL

But I'm going to guess that you deliver in your 39th week, maybe a couple days shy of your due date.
