How come you're preventing this month? I didn't want a Dec baby, so we prevented as well! Unfortunately, the way my cycles fall, if I get pregnant this next cycle, I'll have a DD of Dec 30th....UGH. We might prevent next cycle too, though I haven't decided yet......

we can't have a december baby, its just wayyyy too risky. We live in a town of 500 on a gravel road that doesn't get plowed unless DH does it, and then you have to hope the drifts haven't blown it shut again. There's like a 90% chance we would have an unassisted homebirth (unintentionally) if that happened, and I don't want to risk it. And I just have no desire to have a winter baby really, I don't want to have to drive my brand new baby home in a blizzard and bundle her up, kwim? We're preventing until June at the earliest

Sorry about that. I understand your decision though. We don't see season changes like that in Fl.

Chels -- I totally understand. I was just kidding around cuz I know you've explained why you won't/can't have a winter baby probably a million times already

Also...June will be here before you know it. My dh and I just had a "holy crap" moment today when we realized Kelly is going to be 8 months next week, and that his bday is like just around the corner.

My youngest was born in December, the weather was beautiful the day he was born . . . very unusual. I remember because my parents took my oldest to the nature center and walked the trails while they waited for my second ds to be born. Then about a week or two later we had a huge icestorm! The streets were covered and most people lost power . . . we were lucky and only had it out one day. I was so thankful ds wasn't born during that time so I can completely understand wanting to skip that month!

That happened with Thomas! He was born Dec 14th, about 5 wks early. Total blizzard...stupid association dues we pay apparantly DON'T go towards a plow! Anyway, It was a nightmare. We live at the back of our developement and had all the nighbors outside trying to dig us out to the main road. Then it took FOREVER to get to the hopsital. I was in soooo much pain, DH kept making wrong turns because I was freaking out thinking the baby would be born in the car! It was insane. My cervical cerclage tore....I swear I still get ticked when association dues are due! I pay how much money a year for them to mow a strip of grass around the bike path and they can't have the roads plowed! We get snowed in every year.

If you want, you can just send all of that ovulation my way! Isn't that the way it always works? Whatever we don't want, we get!

My first "December baby" I avoided. But now that we have passed the 2 yr mark of TTC we are just going with it. But then again - we don't see changes here in Texas like you do. Right now I will throw a party if I am pregnant - AF should show this weekend I think. We aren't temping and I was away around O time - but maybe we made up for it. We are starting NTNP this next month because of DH's job situation (his company works with NASA).
