Just need a bit of advice about coming off the contraceptive pill.
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16, and ever since then have been on the contraceptive pill to regulate my periods and reduce pain. Now that we are NTNP, I've obviously come off the pill. This is the 1st time I've been off the pill in 6-7 years and so I'm wondering
1. Will this month's AF last very long and will it be very light?
(this is day 3 of AF and I woke to nothing on my pad and throughout today I've only had a little bit of spotting)
2. How long will it take for my cycles to be semi-regular again after coming off the pill?
Any advice would be good I guess I could just go see my Doctor and she will answer all these. I thought I'd try here first
I was only on the pill for a couple years and I can imagine that all women are different, but my first af wasn't too much different when I stopped taking the pill. It was the af after that that was much heavier. Then for me it didn't take anytime for me to get regular because I was pg before my third af.
i also have pcos and was on the pill for about 6 years before i got married and me and dh decided to start a family. i came off the pill in november of '08, my first AF off it was very short and very light (i think 3 days, and never really went through more than a light tampon every 4 hours). i was probably one of the very lucky ones though...my cycles were very regular right from the time i got off the pill, 28 days, O on day 13-14. we were NTNP from november, but with dh's work schedule, we didn't get to dtd around the time i would O until feb '09, and just so happens i got pregnant that time!
like i said, i was probably very lucky in this, but at least it can give you some hope! hope you get your bfp soon!
