Hi ladies! Sorry, in advance, for such a long post. Being my first post, I'll give you a little about myself... I'm 29 years old, and after being on birth control pills for over 10 years, I went off about 6 months ago. I got married in September, and since January, my husband and I stopped using protection, but are not actively TTC. My cycles were about 30 days for the first couple after getting off the pill, but have been getting steadily longer. two months ago it was 36 days, then this last month, I started spotting at around 39 days, and got my real period around 42 days. I decided that I would give it a couple more months to see if it regulated before going to the doc about it. I usually get really sore boobs about 5 days before my period and my period lasts 7 days. I get really bad cramps the MINUTE my period starts. My last period started on March 3. The last time we had sex was March 17th because I went out of town all last week. About 5 days after having sex, my boobs started to get really sore. I attributed it possibly to the amount of caffeine I was consuming while being out of town for work. Today, I have started bleeding. Its a dark brown color, and a fair amount, though not red at all. I have no cramps at all. It is only day 23 of my cycle. I feel as though this could be implantation bleeding since going by my past two cycles, it should be a couple weeks before my period, and even if I was on a 28 day cycle, I'd still have a few days before it started.

My question is since I really have no idea when I ovulate because my cycles are so weird, I really don't know when my period is due. Do any of you have experience with this? If so, do you think this sounds like I could be pregnant? And when is a safe bet to take a preg test since I don' t know when my period is due?

I can't help thinking your situation sounds very similar to mine. My first 3 cycles were all around 35 days, last cycle was 50+, my last period started Feb. 12! and AF hasn't showed up (I have a dr appointment scheduled to make sure everything is ok). My advice is wait at least until you feel like your "normal" period is missed and then wait a week and test again. Best wishes.

My period changes at least 4 times a year for some reason. seems like as soon as I get use to it, it changes. anyways i have been on the same boat as you. i would say base everything on your last period. it was march 3rd? if it doesnt come by monday i would test tue or wed. if you get neg and still no period wait a couple days and retest. if you still do not get a period i would test at the end of each week but if you do not get a period for april id def. get a blood test!
