Hi, I had my period on the 9th of august, and it lasted about 4 days. The period was not like my others, it was on time, but very heavy, clotty, and very very painful. (My periods are usually very regular and do not cause me any discomfort. Anyway, 9 days after my period ENDED, i had some vaginal bleeding again. It started on the 21st, (so 8 days after my period ended i started bleeding again). It started out as a brownish color and only showed when I whiped, so I went online to see what it could be. I read that it could be ovulation taking place, which is that I passed it off for. It started around 4on the 21st, and stayed at a very light flow, and brownish to brown/reddish in color. On the 22nd, when I got up in the morning morning, (sorry for the graphic, icky details) I felt a gush, and ran to the bathroom. When I wiped there was a good amount of brown/red blood, and has been heavy enough to soak a small panty liner all day. It subsided later that day to a very light flow again (around 6pm). Could that have been ovulation or implantation taking place? I read that it is not usually heavy bleeding for either of them, but I am not sure. I ended my period on the 13th, my bf and i had sex the 15th, 16th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and the 21st, then I started bleeding that day. This is my second month off of the pill, I forgot to add. I figure it could be because my periods are trying to go back to normal, but last month off of the pill my period came on time. I stopped the pack at the end of it, so there is no mid-pack stopping problems, that a lot of women worry about. I thought that, it too, could be implantation bleeding, but the time in my cycle is not right if that is what it is. If it is implantation bleeding, that would mean that I ovulated during or right after my last period.. I am very confused! We are not exactly ttc but we are "going with the flow" but this flow hasnt been right! I finally stopped bleeding on friday (the 24th). Yesterday (the 26th) after my boyfriend and i had sex, i started to spot again, very very lightly, and it did stop. Today (the 27th), i took an at home pregnancy test (a very cheap one, from the dollar store) and i got a very faint line, then it dissapeared. I did wait the said 3 minutues for the most acurate results, and it was indeed "positive", I even showed my boyfriend, who said he also saw the line (i thought it may have been in my head) However, a few minutes later, i looked at the test again, the the line was gone! i have heared that when this happens it usually means it is a negitive test, but this has never happened to me before. I have an apointment for the gyno on thursday, but i may just call tomorrow and see if i can get squeezed in somewhere sooner! any other experiences like this would be appriciated. i would love some opinions!

The last 2 dollar tests I took did that. I thought they were positive at first. They were bought within the past month. I read that they changed their tests up recently. Maybe a side effect?

I wish you had a chart. I'm trying to see your cycle.

AF: 4 days, heavy w/ clots....I get that any time I'm stressed.
bleeding 9 days later, CD 15....ovulation more than likely
CD 16, more bleeding....this is starting to sound like a stress cycle. Your hormones can go haywire when stressed. I've had cycles to last for months because of this.

But crazy hormones can also be due to recently coming off the BCP. I'd chalk it up to that. Sounds like you need to regulate a little. Vitex was a miracle for me. You can get it from the health food store. Take it once a day, it regulates your cycle in about 2-3 months. I went from 70+ day cycles to 28. It's herbal. i stop taking it in the TWW, but a lot of women stop taking it when they get a positive pregnancy test. Not pregnancy approved.

Hmmm.....always be safe than sorry. Treat yourself as if you are. Eat right, get a good vitamin in you, all that good stuff.....it could be your body getting back into the rhythm after your pill. When I first started to read the first part before you said you got off the pill, it sounded like an IUD. This happened when a friend of mine had one removed, but every woman is different (ugg cliche sorry!). Good luck at your appointment and I hope you get the result you need! BTW you might want to spring for a more expensive test, maybe you calm your nerves a lil....

When you say you had a normal period the first month off your pill does that mean that you took your pill to the end and then got a period or you finished the pack and then went through a whole new month and got your period at the end of that month?

If you mean that your period came just shortly after you were off this pill, this would have been a breakthrough bleed and not a true period.

I went off BCP at the end of January (had my breakthrough bleed) and then NOTHING. I got my first period since then on the 9th of July...
My GP said that it can take up to a year for our bodies to come right after the pill, so erratic periods (or lack there of) is actually quite normal.

Also, as Spyctre said, stress can have a HUGE impact on our cycles.

Hope your Gynae is able to give you some good answers
