I was recently diagnosed with mild PCOS. My periods are pretty off, but they do come every month. I can ovulate anywhere between 1-3 weeks before my period. Some months I don't O, but usually I can tell when I do. This month I believe I O'd the week before my expected period, and at that same time my husband and I had intercourse. This morning (which would be 4 days after we had sex) I was having strong pelvic cramping on both sides that subsided after about an hour (implantation or pms or constipation? Ugh!).
Here's where my confusion sets in. They say to wait until after your missed period to test, however, if my missed period is just 1 week after intercourse, is it possible to test and get a positive result, or do I need to wait until after *next* months expected period?
Any advice is welcome! And just as a side note, I do know that people "normally" ovulate 14 days prior to their period, but that is not the case with me, which is making it a little confusing. Also, there is no chance of pregnancy prior to 4 days ago.
Just go by when you think you ovulated. Your period would be "missed"somewhere between 11-15 days after that. If you think you are 4 days past ovulation then if I was you I would yet in about a week :-) hope this helps!
