I have chores I try to do daily. If something needs to be done extra, I do it soon as I can.
I have Kate included in chores whenever is safely possible.
yes, it takes longer (especially at first) but I believe its important to include them i daily chores and activities at an early age.
For the toddler-it's a fun time for them to ' be like mommy/daddy' and be included in 'big kid helping'. its a good way to spend time bonding and learning and also helps a toddler not expect to be entertained constantly by someone else all the time with toys/tv etc.
I include her in doing the dishes, sweeping (she has her own little broom-its so cute ), washing the floor, laundry, folding, preparing food, dusting, and putting things in the trash and changing the paper trash. getting the mail, etc etc
and she is expected to keep her toys where they belong and put things away when shes done using them.
Sometimes she gets distracted and forgets but she is responsible about her toys and room %90 of the time.
I have no idea how moms function constantly picking up after their toddler. A toddler has 2 hands too! If they could take it out they can put it back
