try to play with a ball at least once a week. throw a big ball to one another over a short distance. your child now learns to aim a ball in a specific direction as he throws it to a distance of 1 to 1.5 metres. a child of this age typically tries to catch a ballwith outstretched arms and locked elbows, before securing itby pressing it against his chest. if you aim the ball carefully in his direction, he should be able to catch itsuccessfully 2 out of every 5 times. he will, however, find it very difficult to catch a ball that has bounced in his direction.
roll a ball towards your child. praise him when he bends down without losing his balance, picks up the ball and throws it back to you.
