give your child a large plastic beach ball to play with. during the first half of the 2nd year an inflatable ball is probably on of the most appropriate toys. the bigger the ball the better. a child who has only been walking for a few months delights in trying to carry large light objects.
by dropping the ball and watching it move your child becomes more interseted in the movement patterns of objects.
finally in attempting to retrieve a beach ball, the child will likely kick it away7 with their foot as they bend down to pick it up.
this experience is apparently just frustrating enough to give them an extra charge while playing with this toy
