have those moments of pickyness? or just doesn't seem hungry or would rather snack than actually eat a meal??

Ryder seems to be in that stage i really do hope this is normal. He'd eat fruit, or even veggies no problem. But when i cook up a dinner and give his portion he'll just nit pick. He's always active and exploring around so its not like he's a lazy toddler. He doesn't seem discolored in his face or fatigued or underweight. Maybe its my preggo hormones going haywire, i just want to be sure this is normal because taking him in to the doc i'm sure the baby i'm carrying will for sure make me a grandma by the time we're outta the hospital LOL

Yea Mackenzie eats very well some days, very poorly others. I don't force her to eat on not hungry days, and I also don't pander to her (give her foods she'll eat). If she doesn't eat the food I give her, oh well! She'll come back when she's hungry. haha. That sounds harsh but I don't want her to be the one controlling her diet just yet, she's barely 2.

Samantha has days like this. Usually i will notice at least one meal will be a big meal on those days. Usually if she eats a big breakfast, she will pick at lunch & only eat some of dinner. My ped said it is totally normal.

ok whew i can stop panicing, Ryder usually eats a breakfest with me(consist of eggs, potatos, and bacon) pretty good amount and the rest of the day is snacking sometimes he'll eat a big dinner. thank you girls for reassurance i was a little worried if one day we take him in and doc says we don't feed him enough or something like that and does some crazy fiasco.

no worries.....=0)....my ped actually said something very interesting bc i was worried about the same thing!!! She said instead of looking at what he or she eats over the course of a day...look over the course of a week. Some weeks my dd is a munchee girl, others ....I'm lucky if she even eats one meal (and a meal for her....is not like a protein, veg, and starch)...she really will only eat one thing at a time. There have also been times where i can't get her to eat a good breakfast bc all she wants is grahm crackers...and ya know what, I give it to her....just as long as I watch this is not all she eats.
Ya know, it's funny...I think it's a mom thing to worry about feeding your child...lol
after they eat..isn't it such a satisfying feeling?

jeweluv~ yes, i feel like such a weirdo i like when Ryder is so focused when he eats and his cute little hands grabbing at his food. He knows how to use spoon&fork(work in progress) but he just prefers to grab with his hands. He's always been a big eater. Chris&I think thats why he doesn't use the utensil because he can't get enough on the spoon/fork. lol

i think what it is i keep forgeting he's growing and changing that would include his eating habits as well. Brings a tear to my eye at how much has changed, with him turning 2 yrs old (june 18th) to him walking more on Christmas Day to his first word few days after Thanksgiving( his first word being "Love Momma", Chris kept at it with him to say it on my bday(nov. 7th, better late than never huh? lol). just wow makes me realize how time has flown by.

Abbey goes through phases like that, one day she will pig out, the next day she won't eat!

sggt wifey....I KNOW...about the eating thing...lol, you get a warm fuzzy feeling inside...lol! They do change so much so quickly...it's fascinating and bittersweet! He said Love mama, OMG THAT IS TOO PRECIOUS! (two words at one..that's great!!!)

Kerian....Evyn is a snacker too....I have read that it is more natural for children (like people years ago)..to be grazers; want to move and snack at the same time.....
I guess us adults are just too evolved....it's actually prob helathier to do what they are doing....

The only thing my 3 year old Kaylynn usually doesnt pick over is dinner...I would have to say her favorite luch time food is hotdogs, She request them all of the time! lol but around lunch time if she doesnt want anything I can usually convince her w/ a yogurt or something small of tht nature! lol....Totally normal, as they get older they will never wanna stay outta the kitchen...haha
