I was considering setting Matty's toddler bed up this weekend. I know every child is different. He's only 2yrs 2 mons. But he is trying to climb out and he is very close to doing it and I'm afraid of him getting hurt. He also has two older brothers he watches go to bed in a big bed and it's getting harder and harder to put him in a crib and get him to settle down. But now I'm wondering of he's too young??
Thank you! I was starting to rethink it because it seems a little young. But I'm thinking because he's climbing I should just do it. I bought one of those video baby monitors so I can watch what he's doing. I have a gate to prevent him from going upstairs. So I guess as long as I have all these saftey things in place it shouldn't be an issue.
I think 2 1/2 is the average age, though as with all toddlers they advance at different ages. My daughter Abi was just over 2 yrs, and took to it instantly...the being able to get out of bed at 2 am all of a sudden was also very exciting, obviously!
If he's starting to climb out of his crib, it sounds like it's the perfect time to make the switch. Collin is almost 3 and he has never tried to climb out but he's just getting way too big to still be in a crib!
