Hi there! I am the mommy to an adorable 4.5 month old (born 5/5/12)
He is SUPER chubby and has a chubby fat pad around his penis. His a little pillsbury dough boy! lol.
Anyways, the fat pad around his penis causes it to pull his penis inward a little bit. The head is completely visable (he is circ'd) but his shaft is "in" his chubby pad. You can see a little bit of the shaft, but I have to press down on his fat to get the rest of it to pop out! LOL
Our pediatrician says this is completely normal. We have a friend who is a pediatric urologist, and he also said this is very very normal for chubby boys and he sees it happen all of the time.
Apparently, as he gets bigger (walking and crawling) he will thin out, and his fat pad will slim down, making the shaft more visable.
I'm not worried about it, but I have a couple mama friends with boys and their boys don't have this. However, their boys are longer and leaner. My man is chubby/stocky...like a linebacker! hehe.
Any mothers of little boys have experienced this with their little ones? As they got older did it "appear" more???
I wanted to post this here because I primarily would like to know at what age it started to come out of hiding? lol
I appreciate ANY advice/support/feedback....etc. Thanks so much!!!
I am posting this on a couple boards (just to hopefully get several opinions...)
Thanks Kiliki for the siggie!
My son was a little chubby and he is also circumcised and this would happen to him. I don't remember when it stopped, but he's 2 now and it doesn't happen anymore. He never had any issues with it though, it was just a little strange to look at.
My son doesn't have this but my husband does...it sucks.
Just my personal preference of course.
Hopefully it's something he will outgrow and not a permanent feature for your little guy.
Of course it doesn't bother some people, so it could be a non-issue.
I have no son yet, but my friends son is the same and it was completley normal as long as his penis is being well taken care of. I guess it will go out from hiding when he is 1.5-2years old because they are becaming longer on that age.. hope this helps! Goodluck!
