The holidays are coming and we have a one year old daughter. I am having a bit of a conundrum because I don't want to buy her anything yet since we don't know what she will be getting from other people but at the same time I feel like I need to be coming up with a list of ideas for gifts for the baby. What do you get someone who would rather play with a plastic drinking straw than the coolest Fisher-Price activity box though?

Give me some ideas! What will you be getting for you little ones this holiday season?

My SIL didn't buy anything for her son (1) last year until after Christmas, for that exact reason. Once she saw the gifts from everyone else, she went out and bought a few extra things for him.

At one, they don't really need much. You could always buy her a few things that she will play with in a few months. Some ideas (from when my DD was 1): a kitchen with dishes and play food, a tea set, a baby doll with a stroller, books and wooden puzzles, baby's first crayons and paper.

I am doing more practical gifts for things that my 1 yr old needs: a new coat (a 3 in 1 one from Children's place) with gloves and a hat, a play tent (this is a shared gift with her sister too) and pajamas so far. I still need to come up with a few other things.

you could always do the practical thing like clothes and get her maybe a baby doll.

We finished our shopping for our son 2 weeks ago. lol

New shirt, 2 leapfrog toys, some story books, a tool kit, bath toys and playdoh.

We already knew what hes getting fromother relatives cause they tell us ahead of time.

My grandparents bought him a $300 jeep thingy. My mother got him a tonka truck thats noisy. My SO dad got him playdoh and an outfit...

Pretty basic here.

Got my almost three year old an InnoTab2 from Vtech but since it was a lot of money, I just got him a Hulk toy (his favorite), and a Tonka fire truck. My almost 2 year old daughter loves Dora, so we got her a Dora dollhouse and a Dora inflatable ball pit thingy. My MIL got my son a car rug, which he loves, and my mom sent them the Leapfrog TouchMagic school bus (which I highly recommend even for a baby as young as 1). I think they will enjoy their gifts this year.
