I know my little girl is very independent and those are the words I hear every day! -I want to do it! When I am thrilled she is being independent, I am also irritated with her when I want to do a certain thing with her or for her because a toddler just should not be doing some things LOL KWIM? I tell no mommy has too, she has her "temper tantrums". Depending on what it is, yes I tell her it is for her safety or whatever but there are times when I want to it just because it is a bit quicjker LOL. She just recently realized she can move things to climb up to reach things to get things on her own without asking for help ack! She also has been helping herself to certain foods on counters/selves (so I had to rearrange things-healthy stuff on those shelves LOL) And opening the refrig to get her pre-made sippy full of milk or juice. She pretty much can feed herself, turn the tv on and entertain herself LOL. Only thing now is the potty thing. ;-) I either have to convince her the potty is a big girl thing or teach her how to change her own diaper LOL. Then I be all set. j/k She is barely 3 yrs old and she is acting this way. Now only if she will be this way at age 18!

Oh yeah I have my "Little Helper" as well. She LOVES to help Mommy.
Ironically, her namesake means "Helper" in Latin. And I did not know until we picked her name, It really does fit her well.
Anne-Marie has become very independent lately. More so since I had Jordan. I guess she realizes that I can't jump up and help her at the drop of a hat if I'm feeding Jordan so she just does it herself. There are limits though, like with safety issues. If I know it's ok for her to do alone, I let her. It's all part of growing up I guess. No more baby.
When my daughter was 2 she was wanting to do stuff herself. She tried to bath herself, brush her own teeth, make her own food, use a microwave, butter her own bread. She acted so grown up....LOL

Oh same here if I know she can't get hurt I let her but there are times she just sneaks or does crazy toddler stuff anyhow and keeps me going and my grey hairs are adding up!
Oh yea, I see trouble on our horizon. She can't articulate in words yet that she wants to "help" but she sure communicates that sentiment. Its more like - Eh. EH! EHHHH! and then a satisfied Ah! when she is given the "task" at hand. Drinking, pouring, turning off the light, turning on her CD player...and I'm sure the list will extend as she gets older. Independence is a heady thing
