She doesn't throw really bad ones that last very long so I haven't used time outs yet. I plan to start it at some point though.

Yes, I do. He actually responds VERY well to time-out's already, so I will continue to use that method...

I use it for tantrums and if she does something she knows she isn't supposed to do repeatedly.

We aren't doing time outs yet. I just ignore tantrums. He rarely has them now because he knows he won't get any attention for them.

I try to ignore his tantrums. He goes in time out when he outright disobeys us after being told to do or not to do something, like hitting, throwing his toys, etc.

My older son rarely throws a tantrum. If he did, we would ignore him. He mainly gets time-outs for not listening to the rules. My younger son also rarely throws a tantrum (yet!) but when he does get pissy, we ignore.

I don't use them for tanturms, I walk away or ignore them. I use time outs for times he is not listening to what I ask him to do like... don't touch the outlet, stop shaking the lamp, don't pull the cat's skin in clumps..... and only when he does not follow what I ask him to. I give him three times of asking and at the second one it is a time out warning... he hasn't had one in a while. he listens for the most part.

We use time outs. She doesn't really have tantrums but the time outs are for when she just won't listen. I hate being ignored by a kid.
