Have any of you tried the chalkboard or magnet paint? I really want to use this in Lauren's new bedroom but I'm worried it might not hold up long or work well.

I haven't, but a friend has and loved it. I think you just have to be very particular applying it

Thanks for letting me know Valerie, I'm excited I think Lauren is going to love it My mom told me she happens to have some so I'll let her help me apply it, she is more skilled at painting than me.

One of my friends used this on her daughter's closet door and LOVES it! She just said it's kinda time consuming b/c you have to apply like 4 thick coats and wait for each one to dry before you apply the next. But she did it 3 years ago and it still looks brand new! She also said it was wonderful b/c it kept her daughter from writing on the walls since she could write on her chalkboard closet door!

I'll be sure to put on a lot of coats too, the closet is a good idea too I'll have to think about that. I'm glad to know it still looks good after a few years, thanks for letting me know I appreciate it!

I'm considering this too, down the road. I think it would be cool to have the chalkboard paint along the bottom of his walls and have a chair rail separating the chalkboard paint from the regular paint above it. Maybe the chair rail could serve as a 'ledge' to set the chalk on when he's not using it. I don't know if that made sense and I haven't even mentioned this to DH so no idea if we'll actually do it.

That totally makes sense, I was thinking of doing that to just one wall but I'm still not sure yet. I'm pretty indecisive sometimes

My neighbor was planning to use that paint in her playroom. I am interested in seeing how it turned out....that would be cool in the boys room.
