We had a big part, DH's parents came in town along with his brother, my parents were there and so were my parent's grandparents and my god mother. My best friend from college came along with her boyfriend as well. We had a big party/cook out on Sat and then she was baptized on Sunday.

We kept it pretty low key since he'll have no memory of it anyway. Honestly, we weren't planning to have anyone over but my parents asked if they could come for the day. So we opened gifts and DH ran to the grocery store and bought a small cake -- which was a waste really, Connor wouldn't touch it. He's a bit of a health nut.
How did you celebrate your toddler's first birthday?
We spent the late morning and midday here at our home, having a small birthday party for Connor... My parents came, and my grandfather and his wife came... Connor had an ice cream cake and lots of gifts... Then once everyone left, my husband stayed here with Connor and I ran over to the NICU to spend time with and nurse our four day old newborn. Quite hectic.
