At what age do you normally go to a toddler bed? My baby is going on 15 months (it's hard for me to think of her as a toddler already!), so I've been wondering. I figure I only have a couple more months at the very most before she figures out how to launch herself out of the crib (she's a climber!). Truthfully, I am scared of the idea of her being able to just get up and run around in the middle of the night!
We moved our daughter out of her crib and into a twin bed at around 20-21 months. That's when she started climbing out. We leave her door shut at night and she doesn't know how to open it yet so she can't run around the house. When she wakes up she calls to us. If you don't want to do that you could try a baby gate.
I'm not sure what the "normal" age is. We plan to keep Connor in his crib as long as possible. Like someone else mentioned, you could put a baby gate in her doorway so she can't wander out of her room at night.
Oddly enough, Connor climbs everything in sight during the day but he's never tried to climb out of his crib. *knock on wood* I know he could do it if he wanted to, but it just hasn't occurred to him to try it yet.
Welcome to the board, BTW! Hope you stick around and post often.
