Hi my name is Michele. My 5 year old daughter Trinity was just diagnosed with extreme farsightedness. This is a hard one for me to handle since I had no clue her vision was so bad. No one in our family has this problem that we know of. The doctor said this is hereditary so we should get our other children checked as well. I worry about my daughter since she just started school this year. How is this going to effect her?

I am sorry to hear that your daughter has this issue, personally I dont know how it is going to affect her, how did the doctors say to handle it from here? I know as a child I began wearing glasses at age 6 (1st grade). Best wishes

Hi and Welcome

I don't think she will have a hard time adjusting. She will do just fine. When will she get her glasses?

I'm not sure when she will get her glasses. We have medicaid and they said it could take 1 to 5 months for her glasses to get in.

My daughter was diagnosed with a stigmatusm (sp) and she has to wear glasses. She is only 4. She has been wearing them since June.

My 6 month old daughter is also farsighted. she is off 6 degree in one eye and 6.5 in the other. But I don't find out until Monday if she will be getting glasses. I hope all works out well with your little girl I wore glasses since I was in 3rd grade and I never had any problems.
