it was a fail big fail..... so they tried the toy test with the blocks you hear a beep throw it in but she did not understand she just was going beep beep beep. then we tried pointing to a picture when she heard it being said she did it the 1st 5 times then stopped doing it... then we tried asking her where things were on her face. so there is not anything in her hears stopping hearing. they tried to insert stuff in her ear to do the test she would not go for that so we did head phones which did not last long...she is sending us to someone else because she (the lady doing the test) does not know if there is a hearing problem or if its just emmy not wanting to her us...plus it does not help that emmy can read lips yes read lips so she does not know how much is reading lip and how much is hearing ..............................
so more waiting
This is an important step on the journey, even if she didn't cooperate well. It sounds like she did respond to some of the noises (granted, not in the way they were hoping for), so that's a good sign at least! As for reading lips, I'm surprised they didn't use a hoop or their hand to block their lips; that's pretty standard with audiologists around here.
