my son was born Christmas day of '12 at 39 weeks. he failed 2 newborn screenings ,A screening at 1 month one at 4 months and then a in depth one yesterday at a very respected hospital(Hershey Medical center) near where we live. he has some hearing, im still overwhelmed even though I had been expecting it to some degree. the dr. he saw yesterday was great and we got impressions so the aids can be ordered ASAP but now just looking for some advice/ questions to ask that don't think of at first.
Glad you got impressions made and the Dr seems on top of things with the hearing aid. That is so important. Do you have the audiogram so you can look at it and discuss? the school district where you live should have an Infant services program. You can get serves from their hearing teachers. They can come teach you about how to care for hearing aids, keep up to date with audiologist, learn sign language, connect with other parents in the area who also have children with hearing loss. Sometimes infant centers have once a week infant program where you can meet other parents. I know we do that out here in CA. Each state is different but I would push and find out more information about that. Good luck!
