Is there any way I can get the kids prepared for moving? They are Autistic, I am not sure how long i should wait before starting to pack up their things. I need to start soon but do not want to start too much a head of time that it causes anxiety. We are not moving far, just to the Apt next door which is bigger than what we are living in now. But It will still be a change and cause stress for everyone.

I personally would leave their rooms as is until moving day, and move everything from their old rooms to their new rooms at the last minute, and put everything as close as possible to how it was. That's what we did with our kids and they were fine with it. It didn't take any longer just moving all the stuff from one place to the next without packing as it would have taken to pack it all. We only moved across town.

I have no real advice because I've never been in that situation. But I would suggest just making the transition as seamless as possible. The more you can keep the same for as long as possible will help. Good luck on the move and let us know how it goes.
