Aidan had his evaluation today. He did a good job for such a long day. I started to cry when the doctors were trying to make him respond to his name. He wouldnt do it and he wouldnt give eye contact. I was mad that the doctor was forcing him to respond by taking toys away. I knew it was necessary but I just wanted to tell her to stop. I also found out that Aidan has low muscle tone. I never knew that why didnt his pc catch that. I am frustrated that I wont know the results until next week, arghh.

Aw, what a rough day for both of you (((hugs)))
That IS frustrating to have to wait so long for results. We've been given all our eval results immediately. I'd hate to wait!
Did the doctor say she was leaning towards any diagnosis at all?
What did she say about the low muscle tone, what does this mean for Aidan?

I know how you feel about the waiting...thats one of the hardest parts with the evals. And making them do things they don't want to do is very hard as well.

With the low tone, his muscles will be a bit loose. I'm not really sure what kind of excersises they do for that with PT/OT My oldest has increased/high tone which means her muscles are tight, especially in her left side. She's had several leg braces to keep the muscles stretched on that side and ended up having the muscles lengthened(surgery) when she was in K. She also has a splint for her arm/hand. Hopefully they'll explain it all out to you in detail.

(((((hugs)))))

I didnt get any information on possible diagnosis or what to do about low muscle tone. I have to wait until Wednesday. I am thinking with the low muscle tone they would recommend some excercises. He can walk so I am not overly concerned. I just hate waiting.

Waiting is not fun. But we just have to keep going and when the results come they come. Try not to worry about it.
