Hi there,

I introduced myself on your boards in January (New Here).

And next month we're finally getting our Autism Spectrum testing done. And FINALLY! Her behaviour is more and more atypical in my eyes.

She now hits, bites, scratches, slaps us - but mostly daddy.

I think she knows when she is peeing/pooping but she refuses to use a potty or the toilet. Keeps asking for a clean diaper.

I have finally convinced her to let me put her hair in a ponytail. It took 30 minutes of screaming and me holding her on my knee. And then she found out nothing bad was happening to her and she lets me put one in.

Autism testing will be June 12/13/14/21/22

Thank you for coming back to let us know how you and Aiyana are doing. I hope you get some answers next month. I know the waiting can be the worse part.

Huzzah!! Got the diagnosis today. As I personally expected a diagnosis of PDD-NOS mild. Mostly in the area of social language skills.

My husband is skeptical about the diagnosis, however I saw this coming and expected this diagnosis. Saying that she has always been on the late side of normal development wise, but she always catches up.

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is PDD-NOS. I have probably heard of it but the abbreviation has got me. I am so glad you have gotten answers. The waiting for the diagnosis is the worst part. Now you have the diagnosis you will know how to go to help her. Keep us posted on how Aiyana is doing. xxx

Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified. It's part of the autism spectrum, and is often referred to as "atypical autism."

Getting the diagnosis is never easy, even when you are expecting it. But it does open up so many more doors for your little one. Keep us updated on how things are going and feel free to share, vent, etc on here any time you want.
