Well tomorrow in the morning I go to the hospital. Child free. To get the official results and diagnosis for my little man. I am a ball of nerves. Nervous, anxious, worried, excited, anticipatory.

*HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF*

I will post around lunch time when I get back.
Thank you to everyone for all their support. xo

Okay. Well I am slightly shocked.

The official diagnosis is:

Autistic Disorder - moderate Functioning with SEVERE sensory issues. (100th percentile) most extreme case of sensory issues they have EVER seen ....

I don't know how to feel.. disappointed? relieved??? I am so confused now.

You have an RX now. What else did they say? Did they make any suggestions for therapy?

Well it's great to have a diagnosis! And so young, I'm sure they can make a difference with therapy! That is a GOOD thing.
I know it's a shock though, and I'm sorry that you have to go through all this!

What's next?

Well I have to sign up for the wait lists for 2 different autism programs. one is for Intensive Behavioural Intervention. We have a lot to do with him. ALso have to book an OT referral for regular therapy and keep proceeding with the speech therapy... & Do sensory diet.

It seems daunting because it is so much more work than I originally expected.

Also lots of paper work for benefits and additional financing I am eligible for.

Biggest concern is my relationship... going to be hard to keep up with 20+ hours of therapy and maintain myself, my son and a boyfriend. lol

I'm glad you have an answer! And you can do it! My little man has the diagnosis of Autistic disorder ( at 25 months) and we juggle all kinds of stuff as well. It's overwhelming at first but you'll get use to it.
