...and it was so difficult to read. I mean emotionally difficult. Although I know my son is not where he should be for his age, it is so difficult to actually read it on paper. Right now, it is taking alot of effort to not break down and cry. I hate that my son is at a disadvantage. What is even worse is that I teach at a school with only a third of the 8th graders graduating. These are fully capable students who have no excuse for their failure. I better stop now because this will end up in a long rant about uninvolved parents who view public education as a free babysitting service.

I'm sorry
I cried so much when I was told I should have my son evaluated. And we're still waiting. Can't imagine what it will be like if the diagnosis is confirmed.
You'll have to mourn the life you imagined for him and stay strong to help him get as far as he can. Who knows, maybe he'll get to accomplish all you hoped for
Don't give up. This is just the beginning.

Thank you. The good news is that he was accepted into the districts spec ed preschool program. I am sad he needs it but oh so grateful he gets it!

Bryce just finished his first year at the special ed preschool--it was really great for him!

We finally got an appointment with the new pediatrician and they seemed a little horrified that the old ped suspected autism but wanted to "wait and see if he grew out of it". He is being referred to the Autism Center for evaluation--it will be good to finally move forward! Once they figure out what exactly is going on with him, we can get him the help he needs

It's so hard on parents emotionally.

Things can and do get better!
