Yesterday Billy started limping on his left side, which is the same side his eye droops from time to time. He also has a cold. I called his pediatrician's office and they said to bring him in. There is no pain and he runs fine. Hubby and I also tested out his hand by having him draw with both his right and left hand at the same time, and the control was excellent. Not sure what is going on

Went well. Doctor said sometimes kids get swollen joints in the hip when they have a cold. I talked to a physical therapist at back to school night and she said it sounded like toxic synovitis. Sounds bad but it isn't. It is also known as transient arthritis and goes away on its own with no lasting effects. The physical therapist said her son had the same thing.

The pediatrician does want to see him on Monday, though, if the condition worsens.
