My oldest son EJ is 2 1/2 yrs old he will 3 yrs old Jan 3. 2004. My son receives therapy from ECI ( Early Childhood Intervention) well next week is his last therapy session because EJ will be turning 3 yrs old. So far, the sessions through ECI been great but the therapist are never on time. I mean they will book an appt at 10:00am and dont show up til 10:30AM. Today EJ has Occupational Therapy and, his therapist didnt even show up at all today@@. So, far with my son speech we have tried everything and nothing has work. I try using flash cards and labeling things and when my son is eating i try naming things like rice, cheese, spoon, beans, peas &etc; My son had P.E Tubes inserted in his ears my son had fluid in the left ear more than the right ear. In a way I blame my son civilian dr because when he was an infant they done a hearing test and never check for fluid in the ear or anything at all.. So when I was married i had no choice but transfer to Military Hospital because I was married to US Soldier. And than his dr said i had to wait til he was 2 yrs old to have his hearing test when my son was 12-13 months we could have fix the hearing problem earlier but his dr waited too long. I had to received so many referrels to seen an ENT dr. which was the hearing Dr and everytime my son seen an hearing dr the dr was like first his pressures were low so we had to see his dr again to have his ears clean out to check for fluid back to ENT well his hearing was fine doesnt mean he had fluid in his ears the hearing test so back to see ej dr again well, I finally was fed up with getting referrel so i just called ENT made an appt with the surgeon and he look in my sons ear and saw fluid in both ears as well. So we made an appt with surgery and had to sign surgery papers, general surgery, and finally get my son weighed and the surgery proceed after the hassle i went through... Last two weeks my son had an ARD meeting which explained that EJ will began the PPCD program which is home speech therapy we will began therapy twice a week in the home if no progress than we will have another ARD for Preschool PPCD which is a class room of kids and, EJ will be around kids his age. If Ej was around children i think he will progress speech and the kids around here arent too nice nor friendly.
