dealing with learning disabilities, or in special education or early intervention? Please come check out the Learning Disabilities and Special Education board. Meet other parents who are going through the same things you are. Find a great place to post questions, concerns, and any thing related or unrealted to LD, EI, or special ed. Just click on my blinkie and it will take you there.

or dealing with visual impairments, glasses, strabismus, or other visually related concerns? Please check out the Visually Impaired children board. Find other moms who have VI children and are going through similar things. Discuss concerns, questions, doctors visits, therapies, anything and everything. Again, links are on the host blinkie, so just click on it and come find us.

We are looking to get both boards up and moving a little bit so come check us out and post a few topics, add a few replies. Everyone is welcome, even if you're not sure you belong there. Both boards really need some new members, so please come check us out.

It can count as special ed, if it is included in the IFSP for EI, or for the IEP for preschool and school. I know many kids who have speech disorders and are in special ed. A couple of the kids in my dds special ed class are there because of speech and auditory processing disorders.

I always wonder where we fit with boards like that. My son did 3 years in intensive special education but isn't learning delayed, he has just been put into a gifted and talented program but needed special ed for anxiety issues that didn't allow him to cope in mainstream. He is now in mainstream.

You are more than welcome to come check out the boards. I would love to have some mommies who are further along in the special ed process. A lot of us there have younger kids, but I do know at least 2 moms who have older kids. The kids don't have to be both learning disabled and in special ed, it can definately be one or the other. So come check us out we always love new members.
