We do rice play. I have stacking cups and little toys I hide in the rice. Jay loves it. When I hold him I do up and down. Like I have him stand then say up and then have him sit down and say down. Jay loves stuffed animals. I was sitting on his boy bed (which he is not in yet) and I would grab a monkey and have it dance and say it likes to swing from trees and eat bananas and make up a song and then have it give him kiss and hug. He thought it was so funny. He likes stickers. The other day I cut off the flaps of the diaper boxes and let him pick out stickers and then he put them on the box. He seemed to enjoy that. There is not to much I can get him to do. I am in the process of trying to figure out what activities he will do without a meltdown.
Ya Cameron won't let me "play" with him unless it's active play like tickling. But he has a great attention span so I can do tons of quiet play time with him like reading, coloring and sticker activities. He won't do "crafts" with me yet because he just screams when I won't let him do whatever he wants. He's not great with following direction and just pulls tantrums. I've noticed that he does well with interacting and play with his doctors and speech therapist when he is in a confined space with limited toys. So I may try to set up a special mommy and Cameron play area that we play in together at a specific time every day and see how that goes. I just need to find the space.
Thanks Nicole (MommaDucks) for my new & awesome siggy.
Gosh...I don't really remember! LOL I remember the things we did as therapy, but am drawing a blank with just the two of us.
I do remember him loving the Game Show Network and the game Lingo. He had all these small bouncy balls that look like pool balls. When we went to a certain restraunt, there was a coin machine that you could buy them from. Then he'd put them in a bucket and just wiggle his fingers in there real fast.
