my son just turned 3 in some ways he very smart like he learns fast he just isnt talking much like he knows his basic body parts he trys to count to 5 if i ask him to get me something he does it he knows what im talking about
he can say mom, papa, bob, ouch, wow, eww,no,yea and thats about it im thinking its because we answer everything for him. maybe if i make him tell us what he wants then he will start talking instead of answering everything for him anyone else going through this?

i would seek early intervention services for him hun. its not totally bad to give him the words for what he wants, but start giving him a chance to answer for himself first. even if you know what he is saying but his speech is unclear pretend you dont understand what he needs at first. after maybe 10 seconds or so then you can give him the words he needs.
