I was wondering if anyone goes to them. I talked to a lady that runs one and it meets the first Tuesday of every month. I would have to find someone to watch the boys and preferbly at my place. The lady was really nice and she has a 5 yr old ds that is autistic. I will probaly be talking to her alot and she is dropping off some books for me later this afternoon. I feel so blessed to live in a community where there is alot of support.
I looked on line for a support group and I found one that is nearby. I am not going to call it until my ds is diagnosed. The center holds support groups on Wednesday nights, provides books, movies, and additional information regarding autism. They also have a family run activity once a month and an open gym on Sunday's. It sounds very supportive and I will definitely make an appointment to find out more information. I am a single mom so the more support the better. Good for you for seeking out a support group.
