What are your thoughts on being a foster parent? Could you do it or do you think it would be too hard?
~~~
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do it. I worked with teens from a group home when I was a teacher and to see the change in them when someone actually cared/worked with them was amazing. DH is against it because of the potential of issues or having to deal with the parents if it isn't a great situation (like if the kids have been taken for neglect...). I am still working on him for after the boys are older
It is something we've discussed but I don't know if I could handle it in the long run. That is quite selfish of me I know but I'm not sure if I could handle letting the children return or go to another home.
It is definitely something we've discussed and would love to do, however, now that we have kids there are a few reservations. One being how would my kids be affected and second could I handle giving these kids back (if that was asked) after putting all that love, affection and time in for them?
